canadianhockeyboy357 ::: Favorites thx for the comment but sadly I think hes dead i tried changing the temp. but nothing and I put warm water on his back and still nothing.I dont want to bury him though because I'm scared that for some reason he might still be alive if u have any more suggestions they would be much appreciated. 07-10-08 02:20:15 __________________________________________________
BethanStein ::: Favorites It could be that he's too hot or cold. 72 to 80 are the degree ranges a hermit crab should be kept in. I have five. I he is not moving, try putting a little warm water on him, if he doesn't respond then, theres a problem. It could be he is scared too. If he is alive try to encourage him to go into his shell, and if the need arises, try to raise or lower the temp. Also, if he has a musty smell or has brown discharge, hes overheated. this can sometimes be reversed. Hope I helped 07-10-07 21:46:29 __________________________________________________

CaLiZPlAyA ::: Favorites me and my frends got three crabs from a fair and then we wanted them to grow and go into bigger shells so him being an idiot broke his smaller shell to squeeze him out and then he pulled it out and threw him into water with a bigger shell but it refused to go in it. wtf do we do? his other shell is very small and hes huge wtf do we do help us pls 07-10-01 22:10:00 __________________________________________________
Lyss75 ::: Favorites I have one like that, too. I've had him for six months and he has refused the multitude of other shells I've offered. Basically, there's nothing you can do other than to make sure he has plenty of appropriately-sized shells to change into if he finally decides to do so. 07-09-25 14:38:52 __________________________________________________
Lyss75 ::: Favorites High humidity is actually desirable for land crabs. Different species may require different humidities but basic rule of thumb says you should keep the humidity around 70% in the crabitat. 07-09-25 14:37:35 __________________________________________________
Lyss75 ::: Favorites You do not need to bathe your crabs. In fact, some would advise against bathing. Just make sure they have both dechlorinated water and ocean water and that the dishes are deep enough for the crabs to immerse themselves if they feel the need. "Shedding his outside stuff" is molting. It's a natural process and how the crab grows. Be very careful with him while he is in the molting process! Best advice is to leave him be until he is back up and moving around normally. 07-09-25 14:36:24 __________________________________________________

BeautyShells ::: Favorites Sometimes your hermit crab only comes out at night time (mine does) Meaning when no one is around =) 07-09-22 07:49:58 __________________________________________________ |
