| ceaselessidleness ::: Favorites 2007-11-23 12:49:15 Was it from the new album? If so, I won't know it. A LOT of Songdog's stuff contains 'swearing', but there's not that much about sexual prowess! Yes, I'd say that sex is perhaps the most common subject in Songdog's material but it's generally treated pretty negatively. 'Jezebel' from the first album is a good example of how Lyndon usually writes about sex - how often it can be just a quick fix without any meaning in it. I don't think he's trying to shock - that's just how he sees things. __________________________________________________ | |

Yes, he's the genius behind all Songdog's stuff, but being a very fair guy, I wouldn't think he'd have been AT ALL pleased to get all the credit. Sadly, I wasn't at the gig so don't know which the opening song of their set was, but knowing me I'd have liked it, as with the exception of about three of their songs, I've loved everything they've done. I think they're probably the most underrated band there is. __________________________________________________ | |

Had I know that the support wwere Sopngdog I'd have been less disparaging about the first few tunes they played as the support was billed as 'Lyndon' and I did not see the significance of that. I REALLY hated their opening song of their set, but the rest of their performance was excellent. __________________________________________________ | |

Their fourth album, "A Wretched Sinner's Song" is due to be released in January and if it's anything like their previous ones, I can highly recommend it. __________________________________________________ | |
